These amendments started behind closed doors in a smoky back room and they’re using smoke and mirrors to pass them.

We’re seeing through their deception, sharing the truth about these amendments, and saying NO to them ALL, y’all.

They’re trying to pull

a fast one on us

Politicians, lobbyists, and political megadonors in Baton Rouge are trying to dupe us into passing four amendments to make them richer, more powerful and less accountable to us.

They couldn’t get them passed during the regular session, so they pushed them through in a special session when no one was  paying attention. Now they’re banking that misleading ballot language and a low-turnout election will get them an easy win.

Say NO to them ALL, y’all

They don’t want you asking questions

Because if you do, you’ll find that…

The “trial courts of limited and specialized jurisdiction” in Amendment 1 are meant to let Baton Rouge insiders set up special, can’t-lose courts for their friends and special, can’t-win courts for their enemies.

Amendment 1

Kangaroo Courts

Legislators boiled down Amendment 2 from 109 pages to just 91 words, and used vague and confusing phrases like “modify operation of certain constitutional funds” and “make other modifications” when they mean cap the amount the rich pay in taxes while gutting education and transportation funding.

Amendment 2

Tax Code Bait And Switch

Amendment 3

This amendment is shrouded in mystery—no one knows who even asked for the Amendment in the first place. When the author of the amendment was quizzed on which additional crimes she wanted to send kids to adult prisons for, she named only crimes that already allow this under current law. Either she’s shockingly ignorant of her own policy or wants to hide the amendment’s true intent.

Locking Up Kids

The move in Amendment 4 to change the election dates for judges is another ploy to make it easier for Baton Rouge politicians to get their friends elected when few voters are paying attention

Amendment 4

Rigging Judicial Elections

Baton Rouge insiders thought they could confuse and sugarcoat their way to an easy win for themselves and their friends.

They assumed you wouldn’t do your research or even show up.

But we’re looking past their smoke and mirrors and seeing a clear answer:

Say NO to them ALL, y’all
